With what great delight do I log in here in the Boerne Public Library and find that I’ve only read the first of the Strangers in Paradise comics, but there are literally dozens more since then, as Terry Moore started writing it in 1993. This means I may anticipate hours of graphic novel enjoyment, as well as just One More Thing That Costs Money.
My wrists are already hurting so I just have one more link for Miss High-Speed Access Girl: some photographs, taken by a friend and fellow journalism student, of the Young Monk from his final days at Mizzou. He hates these pictures, and admittedly in them looks bloated and Elvisy, particularly the one of him morosely eating enchiladas. But I am feeling so torrid and lovelorn that I look at them fondly anyway, seeking glimpses of the thinner, cockier, blue-green-eyed one I know now. A trifle pathetic perhaps, but What Is To Be Done.
I’ll be home next Thursday! I can’t believe my great good fortune. Now, to the Brown website. And to start writing my Statement of Porpoise.
