In trying to track down the Arthur Danto joke so you don’t think we made it up, we discovered other, more interesting things: first of all, when you Google “nietzsche jokes,” you get an eye-popping number of useless hits (365,000, to be precise); second, thank goodness all that syphilis nonsense is finally getting laid to rest (and “Nietzsche detested nationalism, socialism, Germans and mass movements, so naturally he was adopted as the intellectual mascot of the NSGWP”); and last but by no means least: Timothy McSweeney’s Internet Tendencies are proud sponsors of Nietzsche! The Musical.
