Dear Unnarrator,

We are all hoping that you still look favorably on the State School’s Creative Writing Program. Below you’ll find some additions to a Teaching Assistant offer, some delightful news about funding.

Your Teaching Assistantship offer will be a three-year contract including tuition, health insurance, and a $12,575 stipend at current state rates. A Division of Graduate Studies Fellowship of $5,000 will accompany your TA for your first year, and it may be paid to you as a summer stipend or divided between two semesters of the 2007-08 calendar year.

In addition, we are pleased to offer an additional fellowship of $2,000 per year, renewable for three years. These fellowships are awarded to top students who have shown service to their communities, and we hope you will become involved in some of the many outreach opportunities available, for example, with the Review or work with children or adults in the valley or in nearby Native American communities.

We hope you will accept this offer, and we will try to make your years at State University happy and productive.

Yours truly,
Director,
Creative Writing Program

They don’t say how much teaching, but surely just one course per semester? [Confirmed: two comp classes the first year, intro to creative writing and comp the second year, then maybe 2 creative writing courses the third year.]

NB by the way that if you do not select an avatar one will be dictatorially assigned to you. And it may not be all that pretty. I'm just saying.
