hearth & home

Z (aka Godsister Number One) and her beau, en route from Palo Alto back to Pipe Creek, took time to stop in Tartarus and check out our house. (Z wanted to see where I would live! She’s so sweet.). The good news is that it’s still there, no one’s living in it, and it hasn’t burnt down. The not-so-good news is that “the back yard is a lake with algae growing on top” (Z theorizes that a pipe burst) and the front yard is parched and the hose doesn’t work (possibly because all the water is going to the back).
And thus our struggle with the Slumlord beginneth.
They also verify that it is in fact extremely hot, and report that everyone has a tan. Safe travels to them as they leave the desert and enter the humidity.
