Subject: Power washing of Language and Literature

The schedule for power washing the Language and Literature building is as follows. The power washing should take approximately four (4) days. The crew starts at 3:00 am and stop about 12 noon. Please move posters, paintings and small items away for the windows. Thanks for your help.

And two droll faculty members immediately hit reply-all:

This is one of the best subject lines I’ve seen in years!

And you thought they would politely hand us pink slips first. Alas, we’re simply to be power washed away….

But don’t you think the header refers to the cleansing of verbal and written textual production itself? To say nothing of its interpretation?

I took it to mean linguistic cleansing in the war crimes sense of the phrase.

NB by the way that if you do not select an avatar one will be dictatorially assigned to you. And it may not be all that pretty. I'm just saying.
